A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, postpartum, and in times of loss. I don't replace your medical team, I work alongside them so you feel informed, advocated for, and held throughout the process.
Not at all. A doula supports both you and your partner. I help partners feel more confident and present, offering guidance and reassurance so they can focus on being with you instead of worrying about what comes next.
A midwife is a medical professional who manages clinical care and delivers your baby. A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support, no clinical procedures, all presence. Both are valuable and they work well together.
No. I support families in all birth settings, hospital, birth center, or home. My support travels with you.
Yes. While my primary focus is postpartum and bereavement care, I attend births for all clients I support. My care is continuous, from pregnancy through recovery.
High-risk pregnancy education and support, birth planning, postpartum care (newborn guidance, lactation, household help), bereavement support for pregnancy and infant loss, NICU navigation, overnight newborn care, CPST car seat checks, and Safe Sleep education.
Absolutely. My care extends to families navigating the NICU, the emotional weight, the systems, the uncertainty. Bereavement support is also available for families experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. You do not have to go through this alone.
The earlier the better, especially for high-risk or complex pregnancies. That said, I welcome families at any stage, if you're already postpartum or in the middle of a difficult situation, reach out and we'll figure it out together.
Yes. I intentionally limit the number of families I work with at one time so every client receives my full attention and availability. This is how I protect the quality of care I promise every family.
I'm a Certified Full Spectrum Doula with specialized training in high-risk pregnancy, bereavement, trauma-informed care, safe sleep, and perinatal community health. I'm also a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) and Safe Sleep Ambassador. Additional certifications in NICU support and pregnancy/infant loss are in progress.
I offer overnight postpartum care, and I remain accessible to clients within the boundaries of our agreed-upon plan. We'll discuss availability and response expectations during the consultation.
Postpartum care is flexible and tailored to your needs. Some families need just a few visits; others prefer ongoing support for weeks or months. We'll design a plan together based on what you actually need, not a predetermined schedule.
Some commercial insurance plans and Medicaid programs cover doula services, it's worth checking with your provider. HSA and FSA accounts are accepted. Flexible payment plans are available when coverage doesn't apply to your situation.
Fill out the contact form on the Contact page or call/text (517) 494-9441. I'll schedule a free consultation where we'll talk about your needs, your journey, and how I can best support your family, no pressure, no obligation.
