When pregnancy becomes complicated

A high-risk diagnosis changes everything. In an instant you go from thinking about nursery colors to navigating specialist appointments, unfamiliar medical terminology, and a fear you weren't prepared for. You need someone in your corner who understands both the clinical side and the emotional weight of what you're carrying.

This service is designed for families facing complex pregnancy conditions. I frequently support clients navigating:

Hypertension & preeclampsia Gestational diabetes Twin or multiple pregnancies Preterm labor risk Placental concerns VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) Planned or unplanned cesarean Previous pregnancy or infant loss Autoimmune conditions in pregnancy Prolonged hospital bed rest

A steady presence at every stage

High-risk support begins well before labor. We start with a comprehensive initial consultation where I review your health history, your birth preferences, and any concerns on your mind. From there, we work together through two in-depth prenatal sessions, building your birth plan, walking through what to expect at your specific delivery setting, and practicing the kind of informed communication that protects you when decisions need to be made quickly.

When labor begins, I'm with you. Continuously. Whether your birth unfolds as planned, takes an unexpected turn, or moves directly to an operating room, I'm present, informed, and calm. My role is not to override your medical team, it's to help you understand what's happening, communicate your wishes clearly, and feel like a participant in your own birth rather than a bystander.

After delivery, support continues with up to ten postpartum daytime visits, plus unlimited text throughout your pregnancy and fourth trimester. High-risk births often come with longer hospital stays, NICU involvement, or a slower recovery. We adapt to what you're actually living through, not a preset schedule.

Trauma-informed, evidence-based, client-led

Every decision in this support relationship belongs to you. My job is to make sure you have the information, the space, and the confidence to make those decisions clearly, even under pressure. I don't bring an agenda about how your birth should look. I bring knowledge, steadiness, and the kind of consistent presence that helps you trust yourself.

I also understand that high-risk pregnancy often carries a grief component, the loss of the birth experience you imagined, the fear of something going wrong, the weight of previous loss. That emotional reality is part of what I hold space for. You don't have to perform okayness to receive care here.
